A major in 英语--the study of literature, 写作, and 语言--invites students to focus on human experience and expression in all its complexity and diversity. As part of learning how to analyze and interpret a wide range of genres, 英语 majors explore texts' literary hi故事 and sociocultural contexts. 学生 also study and practice the creation of texts, 包括诗歌, 论文, 故事, 戏剧, 关键的评论, 还有更多. Throughout their studies, 英语 majors focus on how humans acquire, live with, and use 语言. Each of the three concentrations--Literature, 写作, and 英语 教育--grounds students in all these areas while emphasizing a specific aspect of 英语 studies.
